The smart manufacturing project for 3D printing of key aerospace equipment components, located in the Huoshan Economic Development Zone, has entered the joint commissioning and testing phase. It is being developed jointly by Yingliu Group and Shared Equipment, a leading casting 3D printing company. Once completed, it will become the world's largest smart factory for 3D-printed cast steel components. The project has a total investment of RMB 450 million and a total construction area of 46,000 square meters, with a designed capacity of 8,000 tons per year and an estimated annual output value of RMB 800 million after reaching full production. It adopts a full 3D-printed sand mold process (10 units of AJS 2500 sand mold 3D printing equipment) along with automated casting production lines, compressing the trial production cycle for complex parts from more than 3 months to 1–2 weeks. At present, the joint workshop has been completed, and core 3D printers, smelting, sand processing and other equipment have been installed in place and are undergoing linked debugging. The approaching commissioning milestone means that after the project is put into operation, procurement of metal powders/master alloys such as superalloys and titanium alloys will enter a substantive phase—Yingliu Group is a major buyer of aerospace castings and materials and is a key end-customer lead that powder manufacturers should closely track.
