On November 1, construction began in Xishan District on the Longda·Xiangyun Fusion Materials Project and its Corporate Research Institute. Acting Mayor Cai Jianfeng and Xu Guanghui, Director of the Provincial Department of Science and Technology, attended and jointly unveiled the institute, while Vice Mayor Zhou Wendong delivered a speech. Jiangsu Xiangyun Titanium Alloy New Materials Co., Ltd. primarily develops and produces titanium alloy materials for high-end equipment manufacturing in aerospace, deep-sea, and special vehicle applications. The Xiangyun Fusion Materials Project being invested in and constructed focuses on the R&D, production, and sales of fusion materials and electronic information materials. Once completed and operational, it will have an annual production capacity of 5,000 tons of fusion materials and electronic information materials, covering product lines such as high-performance niobium-titanium and copper superconducting wires and high-temperature superconducting tapes, with applications in magnetic resonance imaging, controlled nuclear fusion, AI computing power, semiconductor manufacturing, superconducting cables, quantum computers, and other fields. The Longda Advanced Nuclear Energy Materials Research Institute, launched in parallel, draws on the more than 20-year advantages of Jiangsu Longda Superalloy Co., Ltd. in the superalloy materials field. It focuses on the demand for high-performance nuclear energy materials in next-generation nuclear fission and controlled nuclear fusion, and conducts full-industrial-chain research on the R&D, preparation, processing, evaluation, and promotion of superalloys, superconducting materials, special alloy steels, structural component materials, rare metal element materials, and materials for extreme operating conditions. The products explicitly mentioned in the news include niobium-titanium superconducting wires, copper superconducting wires, and high-temperature superconducting tapes, involving material directions such as superalloys, superconducting materials, special alloy steels, and rare metal element materials.
