On October 26, 2026, Mesago, the organizer of Formnext, announced the finalists for the Formnext Awards 2026, covering six categories: Ambassador Award, Design Award, (R)Evolution Award, Newcomer Award, Startup Award, and the Sustainability Award supported by Renishaw. Public online voting is open until 12:00 on November 19, 2026, and the winners will be revealed at 16:10 on November 19 at the Industry & Application Stage during the exhibition. All shortlisted projects will be showcased at Booth F60 in Hall 11.0. Metal additive manufacturing-related finalists are strongly represented: Flexcycle Solutions uses a purely mechanical process to recover and produce copper powder for additive manufacturing and powder metallurgy from electronic industry waste; its spherical-rough surface morphology can enhance laser absorption in LPBF, and it is shortlisted for both the Newcomer Award and the Sustainability Award. Spaceform has developed a new architecture for Vacuum Atomization Suspension Printing (VASP). Additive Stream 4D offers a retrofit kit that enables standard metal LPBF equipment to add material onto existing geometries. QH Build's simulation software accelerates WLAM application implementation by 72% and reduces per-part cost by 64%. Design finalists include a custom Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloy implant from Tel Aviv Medical Center in Israel and an integrated Inconel semi-cryogenic rocket engine from Agnikul Cosmos in India. Imperial College London is shortlisted for the Ambassador Award for the world's first 3D-printed steel bridge, developed in collaboration with MX3D. The Sustainability Award also includes Baker Hughes' manufacturing carbon platform and BMF's spare parts solution. Value for powder buyers: ① Shortlisted technologies such as recycled copper powder and vacuum atomization suspension printing point to low-cost, sustainable metal powder routes, and their commercialization progress is worth tracking; ② Formnext is the annual window for powder manufacturers to connect with equipment makers and end-use applications, and attention can be paid to the technical cooperation needs of the shortlisted teams; ③ The winners announced during the exhibition on November 19 will provide a bellwether for downstream demand.
