Spanish heat treatment and surface coating services provider TTT Group has installed a Hiperbaric HIP 107 hot isostatic pressing system to improve the mechanical performance of critical metal components in the aerospace and oil & gas sectors. The system operates at a maximum pressure of 2,000 bar (200 MPa) and a maximum temperature of 1,400°C (optionally upgradeable to 2,000°C), featuring rapid cooling technology that integrates heat treatment and material densification into a single-step process. This investment represents the largest in TTT Group's 65-year history and marks the first HIP system installed by Hiperbaric in Spain. HIP eliminates micro-internal porosity in cast and metal additive manufacturing components, enhancing fatigue strength and enabling lighter-weight designs. TTT Group will use this equipment to open up future technology markets such as additive manufacturing and near-net shaping. By integrating heat treatment with HIP densification as a one-stop service, the system helps shorten the full-process cycle from powder to finished part.
