U.S. metal additive manufacturer VulcanForms plans to build a new factory of up to 1 million square feet adjacent to its existing site in Devens, Massachusetts, expected to create 1,063 new jobs across four sectors: medical, aerospace and defense, industrial, and consumer goods. The Massachusetts Economic Assistance Coordinating Council has approved $21.26 million in state tax credits through an economic development incentive program that ties tax benefits to job and investment commitments. The new facility will be VulcanForms' third in the state, following the company's completion of a $220 million Series D funding round in January 2026 to expand its manufacturing platform and supply chain. This project is one of the largest capacity expansions in the U.S. metal additive manufacturing sector in 2026 and will directly drive demand for metal powders such as titanium alloys, nickel-based superalloys, and stainless steel.
