On June 27, the first Western China Commercial Space Conference, themed ‘Western Skies: Stars and Rockets Unite,’ was held at Xi'an Hi-tech International Conference Center. Organized by the Chinese Society of Astronautics and the Commercial Space Innovation Consortium, the event marked the region's first full-industry-chain gathering focused on commercial spaceflight. During the conference, Western Aerospace Technology Group officially unveiled its ‘Thousand Satellites, Hundred Rockets’ strategy, introducing two proprietary brands — ‘Xi Wei’ satellites and ‘Daqing’ launch vehicles — with plans to build production capacity for 1,000 low-orbit satellites and 100 medium-sized liquid-propellant rockets within five years. Xi'an High-tech Zone released a three-year action plan for commercial space development. On the financial side, five banks collectively provided 50 billion RMB in comprehensive credit. On the industrial side, a 50 billion RMB commercial space and future industries investment fund was established, with an initial 15 billion RMB direct investment fund precisely targeting the entire chain — satellite manufacturing, rocket engines, and key materials. Western Aerospace signed agreements with 17 upstream and downstream enterprises and research institutes, and the Xi'an Commercial Space Industry Innovation Center was inaugurated. The conference signals Xi'an's strategic upgrade from being a ‘strong supporting player’ to a ‘strong integrator’ in commercial spaceflight.
