BLT Files Patent for Ti-6Al-4V-0.25Si Titanium Alloy Powder, Adding Silicon to Enhance High-Temperature Performance
According to information from the National Intellectual Property Administration, BLT has filed a patent titled "Ti-6Al-4V-0.25Si Titanium Alloy Powder for Additive Manufacturing, Preparation Method Thereof, and Titanium Alloy Parts." The powder comprises, by mass percentage, 5.5-6.75% Al, 3.5-4.5% V, and 0.1-0.5% Si. By adding trace amounts of silicon to the conventional Ti-6Al-4V alloy, the patent aims to improve the powder's high-temperature performance and printability. In 2025, BLT reported revenue of RMB 1.852 billion, of which RMB 113 million came from 3D printing raw materials. This patent marks another strategic move for BLT as it transitions from a leading equipment manufacturer to an integrated "equipment + materials" player, further enriching its titanium alloy powder product line.

Xi’an Commercial Aerospace: From ‘Power Heart’ to ‘Satellite Factory,’ Chain-Driven Breakthrough Aims for ¥100 Billion by 2030
Xinhua reports that Xi’an is transitioning from 'China's aerospace power hub' to a full commercial aerospace supply chain. The Sixth Academy of Aerospace Science and Technology provides over 98% of the liquid engines for the Long March rocket series, while the Fourth Academy holds more than 90% of the commercial solid rocket motor market. Building on state-owned technology foundations, Xi’an’s private commercial aerospace sector has nurtured niche players in complete satellite manufacturing and reusable propulsion. CAS Xi’an Aerospace is the only Chinese commercial company to achieve fully in-house development of hyperspectral satellites; it has launched 11 satellites and in 2025 completed the nation's first hyperspectral satellite data asset securitization. Tianhui Aerospace focuses on low-cost, reusable liquid rocket engines. Western Test provides one-stop component screening and testing services. BLT, a metal 3D printing firm, locks in complex engine component manufacturing. Xi’an aims to grow its commercial aerospace industry to ¥100 billion and over 150 above-scale enterprises by 2030.

Formnext to Host First Defense Summit in November 2026, Focusing on Additive Manufacturing and Defense Supply Chain Resilience
Formnext will hold its inaugural Defense Summit on November 17, 2026, in Frankfurt, Germany, running concurrently with the main trade fair. Organized by Mesago in partnership with the Additive Manufacturing Defense Network (AMDefNet), the summit will gather representatives from military, government, industry, and academia. AMDefNet founding members highlight that additive manufacturing enables more resilient supply chains, shorter response times, and flexible, demand-driven production—making it a strategic factor in security-related scenarios. Discussions will cover supply chain management, procurement, logistics, training, standardization, and digitalization. The summit is open to EU and NATO member states and will include keynote speeches, expert presentations, and panel discussions. Formnext 2026 has already attracted over 500 exhibitors worldwide.
