According to a report from Chinanews.com, Xi'an is transitioning from a 'hometown of aerospace propulsion' to a full-chain commercial aerospace hub. The Sixth Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation supplies over 98% of the liquid engines for the Long March rocket family, while the Fourth Academy holds over 90% of the market share for commercial rocket solid motors. Leveraging the national team's technology base, Xi'an's private commercial aerospace sector has given rise to niche 'champion' enterprises in areas such as complete satellite development and reusable propulsion. Zhongke Xiguang Aerospace is China's only privately-owned company to achieve complete in-house development of hyperspectral satellite technology, having launched 11 satellites, with the nation's first hyperspectral satellite data asset inclusion on the books in 2025. Tianhui Aerospace focuses on low-cost, reusable liquid rocket engines. Xice Test provides one-stop component screening and testing services. Bright Laser Technologies (BLT) uses metal 3D printing to produce critical, complex components for rocket engines. Xi'an aims to grow its commercial aerospace industry scale to ¥100 billion and have over 150 enterprises above the designated size by 2030.
